Graduation Details

You are invited to celebrate with the Spencer County Graduating Class of 2013 on May 31st, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the Frankfort Civic & Convention Center, 405 Mero Street, Frankfort, KY 40601 at their commencement ceremony.  Doors will open between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m.  There is no need for a ticket to attend the event.  There is no reserved seating.  The handicapped seating for wheelchairs is located in the designated areas in front of each section of seats.  There are no helium balloons allowed in the building.  Free parking is available around the Center, in the parking structures and on the street. 

Graduates are to be at the high school by 2:15 p.m. (be sure to eat a good lunch) and we will load the buses around 2:30 p.m.  Be sure to bring your cap, gown and tassel. In order to participate in the graduation ceremony, you must be in good financial standing with the school. Yellow permission slips have been sent home.  

Graduates are to be dressed as follows: 

LADIES: will be wearing a white graduation gown and cap.  Solid WHITE dress or Solid WHITE dress pants and White top.  No Khaki's, No Jeans!  Any color of dress shoes are permitted, however flats must be CLOSED TOE, Heels may be open toed, No flip-flops, No tennis shoes, No beach shoes, No casual sandals, Boots must be CLEAN.  you may modestly decorate the very top of your cap. It may NOT have items hanging from it except for the tassel.

GENTLEMAN:  will be wearing a blue graduation gown and cap.  Any color of DRESS button down collared shirt is permitted, neck tie, black dress pants, No Khaki's, No Jeans, Any color of dress shoes, No flip-flops, No tennis shoes, No beach shoes, No sandals, Must be closed toe, Boots must be CLEAN (pants not tucked), you may modestly decorate the very top of your cap.  It may NOT have items hanging from it except for the tassel.

 

Hillview Academy Graduation Information

You are invited to celebrate with the Hillview Academy Graduating Class of 2013 on May 28th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pavilion of the Spencer County Extension Office, 100 Oak Tree Way, Taylorsville, KY 40071.  Additional parking is in the rear of the building.

 

 

Upcoming Senior Events
  • Awards and Honor Night is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28th, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.  Everyone is welcome!
  • The baccalaureate and memorial service will take place on Wednesday, May 30th, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Spencer County Christian Church.  Graduates are asked to wear their cap and gowns.
  • Project Graduation is May 31st, 2013 for seniors and one guest.  Graduates must check in at the high school by midnight and stay until 6:00 a.m.  Permission slips are required.
Notice Regarding Fraudulent Doctor Excuses

As a result of recent conversations with Chief Toby Lewis with the Taylorsville Police Department, Chief Lewis has reported numerous incidents where doctor excuses are being fraudulently signed and turned into schools for excused absences. Any doctor excuses that are found to be fraudulent will be reported to Chief Lewis and he will prosecute for criminal possession of a forged instrument, which is a felony.
